I created the artwork for the newly opened familiar store at Abeno Harukas in Osaka.
familiar is a Japanese children's clothing and lifestyle brand.
The interior was designed by Takashi Kobayashi and Mana of the design office ima.
I proposed several ideas, and this was the one that the ima team immediately fell in love with.
The concept was inspired by a question I've been thinking about a lot lately: "Why do we decorate our homes with flowers?"
With this idea in mind, I wanted to fill the store with color and a sense of joy. Abstract flowers now brighten up the walls, doors, tables and chairs in the children's creative workspace.
The centerpiece of the store is a large tile artwork, which I made myself with advice from my wife, ceramic artist Kyoko Suzuki.
And of course, I also painted the giant Famichan, which has become something of a tradition!
A colorful, cheerful, and peaceful space. If you're ever in the area, I hope you'll stop by!

子供服・ライフスタイルブランドのファミリアがあべのハルカスに新しくオープンした店舗のアートワークを手掛けました。

設計事務所 imaの小林＋マナによる内装設計です。
いくつかのプランを提案し、imaさんが真っ先に気に入ってくれたのがこの案。
最近私がよく考えている「部屋に花を飾るのは何故？」というテーマを取り込み、店内を華やかに装飾するプランです。
壁面、ドア、子供たちのワークスペース用のテーブル、椅子などをアブストラクトな花で彩りました。
特にショップのシンボルとなる中央のタイルアートは私自身で、妻でセラミックアーティストの鈴木喬子のアドバイスをもらいながら制作。
そして恒例のジャンボファミちゃんのペイントも。 内装のレイアウトも素晴らしく、華やかでピースフルな空間になりました。お近くにお越しの際はぜひ。
